Love it here! The service is excellent. I'm writing this as I wait for my food, and the girls went out of their way to make sure I had fresh cheese dip 15 minutes before they closed. I was asked about the sauces and instructed on what I might like. The girls seem to know many of their patrons by name as well. If you think this is like a chipotle or moe's I think you will be delightfully surprised by the quality of the food. A bit pricey for takeout when Azteca is so close by, but the environment is clean and the service is fantastic!

I love this place. Hands down, best mexican food in the area. If I get take out, I either get it here or Giordiano's. I hope they stay in business for many years.

Flautas were delish. Guac and queso on point. Pricing is a little high for the portion size I think but food tasted fresh not reheated or processed. If they would offer a points/rewards program might entice me to go more often.

As soon as you walk into Red Sombrero you're immediately welcomed by the friendly and vibrant staff!! I'm especially fond of their shrimp tacos and their salsa bar, especially the red wine salsa! Order at the counter and your food is brought to you promptly every time. Past few visits they've featured a drink that they always let me sample....I'm partial to the Horchata, it's made from ground almonds...who knew? Not me! Red Sombrero is a bit hidden, next to Starbucks...so go find it and eat as much salsa as you can!

Red Sombrero... what can I say about this place? Nothing... that isn't awesome! Red Sombrero is a little burrito joint hidden next to Starbucks in Kennett Square just off Baltimore Pike. You won't just notice it -- it is on the backside corner facing the strip mall. But trust me -- if you think Baja Fresh is the bomb, you are in for a wonderful surprise at Red Sombrero! The menu is certainly more than just burritos. It is quite large for a walk up burrito joint. But the money is in the burrito. I've eaten here three times and the burritos are always fresh, hot and full of wonderful flavors. There are half a dozen or so different burritos on the menu, or you can build your own. You get free chips and salsa with every order -- and 6 different types of salsa in the salsa bar ranging from pedestrian to burn your mouth off hot. I am partial to the Red Wine Salsa myself. At the end of the day, I wish this place was closer to home. I only get to visit when I work down that way and I have a light day at work. But the service is fast and friendly and the burritos are second-to-none! I highly recommend! Overall: Atmosphere: 5/5 - You order at the counter, but they bring your food out to you -- and they are super friendly! Service: 5/5 Food: 5/5 Price: 5/5 - $6-10 per meal Overall: 5/5

People are nice here. But we waited 18 mins in total to get burritos and fish tacos. Food is not bad. The management needs to improve.

I am not from around here, but I had a fabulous experience here. The owner was so kind and generous and the food was dare I say it, better than chipotle! I had the burrito with pork and it was so flavorful and the waitresses were more than helpful with getting me extra cheese when I asked. My friends got the chili soup and a sandwich (I forgot which type) and they stuffed themselves silly. The food is prepared fresh before every service and the salsas are made every day. Everything is delicious and the restaurant was beautiful!

Delicious food at a great price. You're definitely not still hungry when you're done. I love the salsa bar. A lot of variety and good level of spice. The salsa verde is wonderful. I've been here prob 6+ times and I've never been disappointed. The owner and staff are very friendly too. In an area with a lot of Mexican food options, I would definitely recommend if you're looking for a faster meal. Much much better than a chipotle or other chain restaurant.

I've been here twice. The first time I had a really great meal and the next time it was awful! Hoping it was just an off day!

The Red Sombrero was a great find on my trek down Route 1 today. It's disguised to look like a chipotle of sorts, but the food is actually all made to order, fresh. I'm not talking scooping premade meats and toppings into your tortilla, but actually freshly grilled and prepared just for you. The service is excellent, the guy taking my order was very friendly, the staff who the delivered the food also friendly. I thought it was a great value, especially considering it is fresh unlike a california tortilla, qdobe or chipotle. It had the taste and quality of genuine mexican food you get at a restaurant, in a quick service establishment. I ordered the Fajbrito, which was a burrito with fajita toppings in it. The chicken had a great flavor and seasoning. The peppers and onions were piping hot. The Jalapenos were fresh cut, not the pickled tasteless from a jar kind. Probably one of the best burritos I've ever had. I will definitely be stopping here again.

First time here. I ordered a Todo Bien burrito, and it was great! Large portion, good ingredients, and great customer service. Very satisfied!

Really small hole in the wall type establishment at that location that is not really conducive to anything other than a fast food meal. They don't seem to advertise, and you'd never know it existed or was there unless you happened to stumble upon it while you were in that particular shopping center. Local here who happened to stumble upon it about a month ago - glad I did. Though I live nearby I never knew it was there. While you CAN eat there, as they have a few tables, it is better for takeout, on the go type meals. Grab and go. Far superior, bigger portions and much quicker service than something like Taco Hell. Good stuff on a really small menu. Great prices. Fairly quick orders, friendly help and management and very tasty stuff. Seems to be geared mainly to the locals who know the place rather than a chipotle type eatery - where you wait 20+ minutes in line before even placing order. Call in orders for take out takes all of five minutes. Very quick take out. Heartily recommend. Give it a try.

Mexican Cuisine

If you enjoy Taco Tuesday, then you have officially fallen in love with the Mexican Food. The main grain of Mexican cuisine is maize. Also known as corn, maize is grown for the past 9000 years after the crop was discovered by the people in Mayan civilization. Mexican empire flourished when they started growing beans, tomatoes, chili pepper, sweet potato and cactus. Till this date these ingredients are used in cooking authentic Mexican dishes and drinks.

Great use of spices, fresh chili pepper dishes like fajitas, tortilla chips, corn chips, salsa, chimichangas, burritos, nachos and quesadillas are invented in America. But when you are looking for authentic Mexican food then you must find a restaurant in the city that serves Rajas con Queso, Garbanzo in a Guajillo Chile Sauce, Pork Filled Chiles Rellenos, Chiles en Nogada, Molcajete Salsa, Pico de Gallo and Frijoles de la Olla. An eye-opening fact – Mexican don't like their food hot. They use fresh chili and other spices to create a flavor that lingers in your mouth.

Mexican food is great for those who are Gluten Intolerant as they use Corn instead of wheat in most of their dishes. Also, you can easily find many beans based Mexican dishes. Another dish which didn't get similar glory as tacos or nachos is the Mexican hot chocolate. If you love something hot on a chilly day, then go for Mexican Hot Chocolate. On merry days, you can enjoy the authentic Mexican Drinks like Tequila, Mezcal, Tecuí, Sotol, Bacanora, Charanda, Posh O Pox, Puebla and Pulque. Mexican Cuisine is for people who enjoy strong drinks and hearty meals.
